About the Centre/Service At Hawthorn Early Years (HEY) we teach children to love learning so they never stop growing. The Service Located in the community HUB on Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn, Hawthorn Early Years (HEY) boasts spacious and light filled rooms with lots of natural light, large outdoor spaces, a beautiful peppercorn tree, vegetable gardens, mud pits and a communal area which houses pet turtles and fish. Work Days of the Role Monday - Friday

This is unique role for a Kinder Teacher who is passionate about working with children aged 0-3. Classroom/Age Group: You will be working in the Cooktown Classroom with children aged 1-2 years old, with a maximum group size of 10 children per day Start Date: Negotiable but preferably Monday 21st December in preparation for the 2021 year (the Service will be closed from 24th December 2020 7th January 2021). The Opportunity Working closely with the Juniors Educational Leader, you will enjoy; Leading the development and implementation of curriculum in collaboration with team members to maximise each childs development and learning. Supporting each child to participate in the educational program. Establishing goals and assessment of each childs learning and development. Mentoring and leading educators to support an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documenting and evaluation. Being guided by the Services Pedagogical Strategy. Leading the implementation of our Specialist Programs including a Kitchen Garden/Sustainability Program, Music Program, Fundamental Movement Program, and Mental Wellness Program. Contributing to the development and ongoing implementation and review of the services Quality Improvement Plan.

Qualifications To be considered, you will have: A Teaching Qualification in Early Childhood Education as approved by ACECQA. Proven knowledge of the National Quality Framework Previous experience working in the early years sector in a leadership role Valid Working with Childrens Check or VIT Registration Police Check Current First Aid qualifications
