What is a School Based Traineeship (SBAT)?
- Students are matched with employers & spend approx. 1 day per week working in their business.
- Students receive vocational training to match the industry they are employed in.
- Students generally undertake the SBAT over 1 to 2 years.
- The SBAT contributes to VCAL and/or other education qualification.
- Students receive a training wage for time spent in the workplace.
- In most cases Centrelink payments will not be affected.
What are the benefits of a School Based Traineeship (SBAT)?
- Students gain confidence and skills that will increase their employability options post school.
- Students receive an opportunity to try a vocational area that interests them.
- Students get a chance to build links with potential future employers.
- Students and families get an opportunity to build relationships with the TTW support agencies
Who is eligible to participate in Ticket to Work?
- Students who will commence Year 11 or 12 in 2018.
- The program may not appeal to all students - it is best suited to students who have a clear idea about the type of work or industry area they are interested in.
Hope to see you there!
