Promise delivered? The National Disability Insurance Scheme five years on

Posted: 5th Mar

La Trobe's first Bold Thinking event of the year will explore what's working and what's failing with the marketisation, individualisation and insurance principles that underpin the NDIS model. What does this mean for the people the system has been set up to support, is life any better for them and is the system actually delivering on the ambitious target first set by policy makers and politicians?

You're invited to join us for the first Bold Thinking Series lecture of 2018 with La Trobe’s Disability specialists including Professor Christine Bigby and Dr Jane Tracy, Paralympian Dr Lisa Chaffey and The Australian’s Rick Morton to discuss and debate the NDIS and more. Find out more about disability expert Professor Christine Bigby on the Nest blog.

This event will be followed by tea and coffee for networking purposes.

Hosted by respected broadcaster, journalist and writer Francis Leach, the Bold Thinking Series features a panel of La Trobe University academics in discussion with industry experts to share their bold thoughts and discoveries, and how they relate to modern society. You can find out more about our other upcoming lectures scheduled for 2018 at our website.
